I am getting the ok on the menu price. its going to be around 22.95 plus tax
for adults and 11.48+ for kids, This is just an estimate for now I will have
the set price on the registration form. The main meat will be Carved Roast
Beef or Fried Chicken. I will post the entire menu when I get everything set
and remember this will be a buffet. Remember one other thing Breakfast is
free and its usually, eggs, french toast, cereal juice ect there is always
quite a bit.
One important thing concerning the Photographer, the memory books order
must have a minimum of 40 books or she will not make them. Also as far as
the photos and group photos she said that she now prints them out right
there on the spot so you will be taking them home with you if you have them
paid for. The memory books are really nice for the price, they are soft
cover but for something to remember everyone by they are a good deal. I
think they are around 20 bucks so everyone should think about getting one.
If we choose to get one then everyone needs to let me know because she told
me that she wants a number before she will think about making them. I am to
tell her how many within around a month before the reunion. So everyone if
you are interested in a memory book I need to know.
Hope to see all if you there.

The
First Jesse L Brown reunion is in the
Ramada Inn, North Charleston close to the airport, the address is 7401
Northwood’s Blvd, Charleston Sc.29406 phone # 843-572-2200 . They offer free
pick up from the airport and also transportation to other places within a 5-mile
radius of the hotel. When you book a room please tell them you are with the
Jesse L Brown group. The code word is Group
for the discount. The rates are 84.00 plus tax. You need to book your room thru
the hotel and not thru a web service like hotels.com in order for us to get the
Hospitality room for free; otherwise the group will have to pay $200.00 a day
for the room. The web page for info on Charleston and things to do there is
www.charlestoncvb.com/. This should bring back a bunch of memories. I will
give more info as soon as I get it or contact me if you have any other
questions. Paul

I plan on having a photographer at our reunion. I used her
when I held the LaSalle reunion in 04 and she is great. She specializes in
military reunions, and she is very well known all around the US. She doesn't
charge the reunion itself she makes her money from the pictures and memory
books, no sitting fee or anything. She will also take a group photo. The
price of the memory book is dependant on how many she sells, if she sells a few
then it will cost more. I believe that the LaSalle book was about 35.00 but I
love it and the memories last forever. I will be setting up a date for her
soon but I kinda would like to know how many would be interested in not only a
Memory Book but also a group photo and individual photos. This way I can give
her an idea of what to expect. Her web addy is
http://reunionphotographers.com/
check it out she has some pretty amazing pics on there.
Last count we have about 20 confirmed shipmates attending
so far but I have about 35 that say they are interested and want to come. This
is why I am setting up the reunion so far in advance it gives everyone a chance
to plan ahead. But then again I planned for 3 years on the LaSalle. I hope
to see more names soon so please contact everyone that you knew on the ship and
get them going, that is about all of the help I am going to need at the moment.
I have everything else pretty much under control right now I just need
bodies.....
Thanks to everyone for their support so far Fair
Winds!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi group I have finalized the DJ for the reunion ,
we have him for 3 hours on the Banquet night so put on your dancing shoes. All
I have left is to finalize the Photographer and since we spoke last it was
basically a done deal we were just waiting until the new year to set the date
and I will do that tomorrow. So it looks like we have a pretty good schedule
for a first reunion.
Briefly here it is until I get with the hotel and
put it in print. Friday the 26th will be mostly check in and lounge around the
Hospitality room. Around 7 pm we will hold a meeting which we can talk about
future reunions and whatever else. Sat is a day on your own to run around with
you friends that is what the Visitors bureau page was for, take the kids to
the Aquarium, take the wife downtown scenic Charleston or head to Patriots
Point with some shipmates and check out the Museums. I am going to try and get
with a friend of mine and see about going out to the old base and see all that
has changed and see Jesse's old birth. If others are interested then let me
know maybe we can all go out there together.
Sat evening will be the banquet and dancing and
Sun will be farewell. I believe that the prices for the hotel are for 3 days
before and 3 days after for anyone who would want to make a Vacation of it and
stay a bit longer.
Please remember that I will have tables set up for
all to bring any memorabilia that you have and want to share especially cruise
books. The room will be locked in the evening so there is no need to keep
picking it up everyday.
Lets make this a nice reunion and get all of your
friends to come.
As I said before the Photographer will take a
Group photo as well as individual photos, and we may be able to talk her into
going out to the old berth on the base and take a few pics for us. I will
bring my memory book from my other reunion that she made to show you what she
did.
I am trying to make this first reunion a memorable
one for all and I look forward to meeting each and every one of you.
Paul
